National Steel Car has been led by the chief executive officer Gregory James Aziz. This Canadian based rail company has grown from a small family business to a corporate juggernaut because of the hard work of Greg Aziz.
Gregory James Aziz moved the headquarters of National Steel Car to Hamilton, Ontario, the place he called home while he was being raised as a child.
Greg James Aziz would attend Western University. During his time there, he would excel in class and receive a degree with an emphasis in economics. He would put the techniques he learned into good practice when he was hired as CEO.
Because Gregory James Aziz implemented many important techniques into his business practices, National Steel Car recently celebrated year 100 in business. Many business experts point to his passion for innovation as the reason that National Steel Car is still operating today.
When Gregory James Aziz sat in his office for the first time at National Steel Car, he looked over the records and discovered a glaring problem. National Steel Car was no longer innovating. Gregory James Aziz sat down with his executive team and they compiled a plan where they could instill a vision of excellence and innovation throughout the company. After five years of working hard, the 2000-member workforce finally believed in the vision and began propelling the company forward.
During National Steel Car’s celebration honoring its 100th year in business, Gregory James Aziz took the time necessary to thank all the company for being dedicated to the vision of excellence. He thanked the 2000-member workforce for taking time away from their families to make National Steel Car number one. He thanked his executives for spending one on one time with workers to show them what National Steel Car could become. Lastly, he thanked the customers for seeing that National Steel Car was still a company of innovation and would remain in business for another 100 years. The company received TTX SECO award for quality, for over a decade.
Though Gregory James Aziz recently stepped down, his inspiring vision of excellence and innovation still permeate National Steel Car. Stockholders firmly agree that National Steel Car would still be in business a century from today.
